Wave Energy - the earth's hope for a cleaner energy?
Since a couple month I have the chance to attend the wave energy research meeting and work for the research group. The work is very interesting and also challenging. The world give us so many chance to produce energy than just burning coal, gas or oil. It is an engineers responsibility to discover these ways and to make them accessible to everyone on earth. One challenging and intriguing approach to solve the energy problem is ocean wave energy. At Oregon State University, the Energy Systems group is working on the development on a linear-direct drive wave generator. The energy source is completely free from any CO2 emissions and could be available at a lot places along the any coast.

Interessant! How do I get a wave powered car/scooter to get out of the Oberbergishe Mountains. Maybe I could harness boredom energy... eh, probably not.
Are you working with the wave energy now? Your in the perfect place for it! Try surfing in Newport, then you can feel the full strength of wave power. It's a trip! And I don't think you'll be able to do it in Bodensee;)
No, you could use the energy type at the Bodensee in Germany. Germany is not a perfect country for wave energy. But look at the US, Africa or Australia; the most people like in coast range and so they could have access to wave energy.
Jepp, I am working for the Wave Energy group at OSU. I have not tried to surf in Newport, but I'll try it soon. Have you tried?
